Overview

CrowdFarming needed a more efficient way to manage the full lifecycle of their farming contracts and partnerships. Their existing system was outdated, limiting scalability and making internal operations cumbersome. To address these challenges, we designed and built a new back-office platform tailored to the needs of the internal team and the workers in the CrowdFarming network.

Why

The previous system was fragmented, requiring manual data entry and workarounds that slowed down processes. As CrowdFarming grew, managing contracts, logistics, and worker interactions became increasingly complex. The company needed a centralized, intuitive, and scalable solution to support their expanding operations and reduce inefficiencies.

Process

As the lead designer, I worked closely with the team to understand their needs and conducted competitive research to inform the site’s structure. Through multiple feedback loops with stakeholders, I refined the layout to ensure clarity while maintaining an engaging, high-end aesthetic. I collaborated closely with a multidisciplinary team of developers, POs, Managers and the CEOs of the company. It was critical to have direct contact with them to understand business needs that would in time be scaleable.

As we dived deeper and deeper into the project we came across challenges like any other project. The two most critical being a lack of lack of understanding of UX and structural challenges within the company that kept us from running a smooth process.

Research & Planning

Conducted market research to identify existing scheduling challenges and user preferences. Defined target audience segments and outlined key features based on user needs and market trends.

Design & Prototyping

Collaborated with designers to create intuitive user interfaces and interactive prototypes. Iteratively refined designs based on user feedback to enhance usability and visual appeal.

Implementation

Leveraged agile development methodologies to build the scheduling app from the ground up. Prioritized feature development based on user feedback and technical feasibility. Implemented AI algorithms to analyze user behavior and optimize scheduling recommendations.

Testing & Optimization

Conducted rigorous testing across various devices and platforms to ensure compatibility and performance. Gathered user feedback through beta testing and iteratively optimized the app based on usability metrics and user satisfaction.

Outcome

The new back-office system streamlined contract management, improved data accuracy, and enhanced collaboration between the internal team and workers. By replacing the outdated system with a more intuitive and scalable platform, we enabled CrowdFarming to operate more efficiently and continue expanding their impact.

Automated Prices and Fees

Now, finance divisions can concentrate on delivering more tailored advice for beginning farmers.

Stock Control

We can concentrate on the product and enhance projections for the stock's behavior at every stage. By correlating their internal stockpiles with financial information, farmers can streamline their operations.

Flexibility

Products that match and can be delivered to the same consumer via novel sales approaches, now have the capability for automated, bespoke seasonal suggestions.
